Infinity Chronicles Book One A Paranormal Reverse Harem Series edition by Albany Walker Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

  • More of a 2.5 tbh. I love the majority of what's in this book however there are some parts/points that I noticed which did not make it to be one of my favourites.

    - I liked that this doesn't end in a cliffhanger but there is no major plot twist or climax in this book. It's always a buildup of tension. I always thought while reading that there will be some major sh!t to happen but to my disappointment there's none.

    - There is no group dynamic. The only chemistry that I saw in this book is between Laura and Ares. Ollie is kind of just a friend that she flirted with. Dante had a strong game at the beginning of the book and then it fizzled out. I still don't know how to put Milo in the group. He's like Dante that's ok at the beginning and then suddenly take 180 degree in his character which is confusing. There's a hint that it's because of Ollie. I'm still not sure if it has MM in this bokk but this is why I don't favor MM in my RH books. I don't want any of the guys to have divided attention. I want them to be only affectionate towards the main lead. Just like with Milo, no matter what his reason going to be in the future for being a d!ck towards the main girl, in the end, him liking the girl will just be forceful. I will think that he really doesn't like the girl but Ollie and he's just being forced because of some paranormal reason.

    - I don't feel the RH in it. The group dynamic is still not there and I kinda feel bad for the girl because she's like pushing herself into the group.

    - This book gives me an Ariel Kimber vibe but it puts a different twist so I think this is still ok.

    - So all in all I'm still not sure if I'm going to read the next book. Maybe I'll wait the series to finish then decide if I'll continue reading this series.
  • I thoroughly enjoyed this first book of a new series. Baffled by years of her mother moving them repeatedly every school year, Laura was hardly shocked at this latest move. What was odd, was her mother getting progressively more withdrawn and "sick" then quietly telling her she felt this of all places was where Laura belonged? What exactly did she mean by that?? Priding herself on her ability to remain almost invisible at school... Something that fast became necessary when any time people or school became aware of Laura, her mum immediately packed them up and moved. This time was different as she'd somehow brought the ire of the school mean girl. Everything was going crazy in her life....what is going on, and why do these good looking guys seem drawn to her? I for one can't wait for the next in this new series!
  • This was a good beginning to a promising series. The main character isn't quite as curious as I'd be in a similar situation, so the questions and answers sort of dribble out, but the author does a good job of creating a solid main character that I'm invested in. I think it's important to consider this book as the first in a series. The author is laying the ground work of the main character, the world in which she lives, introducing additional characters, etc., so other reviewers are right when they say that there's not really a "plot twist" or a clear conclusion to the book. This isn't a deal-breaker for me when starting a new series (i.e. I don't care that each book doesn't stand alone and resolve all the plot elements introduced), but if it is for you, you might not like this as much. I'm hopeful that future books will further develop the guys' characters, as I felt like the focus of this work was on explaining the motivations of the main character and the guys got a bit lost in the shuffle in the sense that we didn't really get to know them as much as I'd like. Some minor editing errors were a bit distracting, but all in all, a solid read.
  • I thought it was a great start to a new series. It is going to be reverse harem, so if that's not your thing, then you wouldn't care for it. Not much intimacy yet between the main characters, but there's definitely potential. Some editing issues, but not enough to turn me away. I snapped up book 2 when the pre-order went live, so that's what I'll be doing later this week! I'm very curious to see what happens next and learning more about the guys, in particular.
  • There's a lot of potential with this story but it was painfully slow. I kept reading thinking surely they would discover something, but it only started coming together at the end.
I'm afraid that I won't be following the series. xx
  • Loved everything about this book! Excellent writing, story and characters. The surprising plot of this story makes it exciting and unforgettable. The smokin hot men and the high school setting are mesmerizing and addictive. I want more!!!
  • When I started reading this book i had a completely different idea of where it would go. But I'm not disappointed in how it ended. I kind of wish that Laura had held onto her shy, closed demeanor for a little longer though. It would have been interesting to see the slow progression to the more sassy girl she was at the end. However the plot was a good starting point for the series and we learned a bit about the in finities. Not too much just enough to keep my curiosity. I'm looking forward to learning about all the boys powers!
  • great start to the series. can't wait for the next book. sometimes laura bugged me but all the guys made up for it.
