"I greatly enjoyed this addition to the authors 'Rossi Crime Family' series.
Ivan (anti-H) works for the senior Rossi, an utterly evil & despicable mob boss specializing in human trafficking. Violet (h) is one of the terrorized women kidnapped & taken to Rossi's compound to be 'prepared' for auction. And Ivan is in charge of each 'shipment' of kidnapped women, to ensure they make it to each auction in order to obtain the optimum sale price for Rossi's empire.
But a chance run in between a terrified Violet & Ivan brings her to his attention & a past tragic memory of Ivan's is triggered by the sight of Violet & causes him to deviate from his 'business as usual' treatment of women where it concerns her.
This book was dark, there are triggers & Ivan is NOT a good or nice man. He's done heinous things & turned a blind eye to heinous things, but he just cannot do that when it comes to his little Kitten. He wants, needs, to save her to save his soul. All he needs to do is escape with Kitten then evade capture & retaliation by Rossi & his men . . . . .
I think the authors did an admirable job taking a man who has done reprehensible things, has a dark heart & soul & made the reader root for his potential salvation. Violet was a wonderful character, innocent, tenacious, loving, hopeful, enduring & so loving of Ivan.,
This story (IMO) was excellent, gripping, tense, suspenseful, sizzlingly erotic while the plot, the characters & the writing captured my interest from beginning to end.
I loved this one.

Page after page I was begging for more! Warning You will want to read entire book in one sitting. Violet was kidnapped from a club on none other than her birthday. She was taken to a small room with only a stained mattress and bed and a tiny bathroom. It seems like days and no one has come to check on her until one night two drunken guards come in and try to force themselves on her. She somehow manages to break free by fighting them off and she runs into a muscle of a man. She flings her arms around him and she finds something she has been longing for...warmth. She begs the man to help her to only realize he is the boss, Ivan. Ivan keeps the guards away from her. Ivan is not a good man. He is a mobster and has killed many people. But something about Violet captivates Ivan. He starts helping her and taking her to his apartment at night to sleep. The auction of the girls is coming soon and he makes it clear there is no way he can help her from that. Or can he? She seems to bring him comfort like he's never had but it can't last can it?
- Well here’s yet another win in the Rossi Crime Family Chronicles. Good lord but this an emotional rollercoaster of love, hate, fear and joy.
I loved Ivan’s and Violet’s story! Poor Violet just wants to celebrate her 18th birthday with a night out but then she’s abducted into the horrors of sexual slavery, and those horrors are really unsettling. It’s her salvation that she stirs a memory in Ivan that causes him to want to protect her. But, they are both trapped in the dark world of human sexual bondage and escaping it, for him and her, seems like an impossibility. Will they find a way out or will they die trying?
This IS a dark read but it’s such a good one! This entire series is well written, thoughtfully plotted and peopled with wonderful characters. Don’t miss out on this really interesting crime saga! - This book involves Ivan & Violet. Ivan works for the Senior Rossi who is a vicious trader of young girls. Violet happens to get abducted by his men & Ivan comes to her rescue. I like how the Authors involve the characters from the previous books as the Series continues.No spoilers here but you have to read the previous books to understand where this story is going. Looking forward to the next book in this Series!
- It grabs your attention from the first chapter to the very end. It very well written and ties into the other books nicely. It can be read by itself, but you would be missing out on some great stories and the characters that tie them all together. I cannot wait for Roman's story. This is a must read story in a must read series.
I voluntarily am leaving a review from an ARC copy. - After meeting with Rossi it went to what looks like messages but the authors about how to write the rest of book!! Very disappointed!! Don't think it was ready to be released. Full of misspelled words and incorrect use of words. Since I actually paid for this book on I would like a refund or the finished copy of the book
- I could not wait for this book. Read all the others...enjoyed them. Dont waste your time on this one. I have no idea how it ended. It was a garbled mess. Sorry I spent money on this piece of sorry writing. I'm not reading these authors again.
- So, I am really confused because it appears that the version of Guard Me that I purchased was an unedited and unfinished book. It ended in the middle of a chapter and then has, what appears to be, authors notes after. There are a TON of grammatical errors throughout. Have enjoyed the series and was enjoying this one, despite cringing every time the word "too" was used incorrectly. Wondering if a correction will be made.
